Greater Callion area
The Greater Callion area is located 14 kilometres southwest of the Davyhurst processing plant. The area is centred on the high-grade Callion and Glasson mines with numerous historical workings over a strike length of greater than 12km. Both Callion and Glasson were mined historically by open pit and underground methods with a historical gold production of over 155,000 oz.
Mapping and rockchip sampling has identified a number of high priority targets within the Greater Callion area with work continuing to further delineate the geological and structural settings of these gold occurrences which will aid drill program design.
Callion Mine
The existing Callion open pit is approximately 650m long and 40m deep with historical production of 279kt @ 10.2g/t for 92koz and current Mineral Resource Estimate of 680kt @ 4.9 g/t Au for 107k oz.
Recent pit mapping and core relogging have started to unlock the controls of the high grade mineralisation with the intersection of the quartz host, fold hinges and north-south shears. Drill programs are in place to target the down plunge of the Callion lode as well as along strike to the north and south.
